3D/4D Ultrasound

On Saturday, we went for our 3D/4D ultrasound.  I have to admit-I really didn't want to do this.  First off, I basically thought that it was a waste of money.  We already had a free 2D ultrasound for diagnostic purposes (which you can read about here), so another ultrasound would be needless hemorrhaging of cash!  Secondly, I really don't want to know the gender of Perogy, and wanted to avoid any situation in which it may accidentally be revealed.
Ryan had previously viewed a 3D Ultrasound with his sister when she was pregnant the first time.  Because of this, he really wanted to have it done for Perogy.  He arranged the entire thing for us-from researching a suitable clinic to booking the appointment, so all I had to do was just arrive on time.
Retrospectively- I am thrilled that he talked me into the whole experience.
The clinic that we visited was less than a year old.  We brought along with us both sets of parents, along with my younger sister (who was being a squeaky wheel about being B-listed :)) The room that they had us in was super spacious, with tons of room for everyone to sit.  They had a large screen TV set up on one wall, and all of the chairs arranged theatre-style in front of it.  I was behind everyone, so it was nice that they weren't all watching me!
Like our previous 2D ultrasound, Perogy wasn't super cooperative.  He/she preferred to give us the cold shoulder and turn away from the camera.  Our sonographers were patient though, and after about an hour, he/she finally turned so that we were able to get a good look at the face.  I can't even describe this experience.  It was so cool to see Ryan's nose and lips, and my chin.  It blows my mind to think that we could have created something so beautiful!  (As an aside-after we returned home both Ryan and I agreed that although we may be biased, it was the cutest baby we have ever seen!).
We had a sonographer that was training perform the ultrasound, so we ended up getting two free 5X7 pictures, on top of the two that already came with our package.  To top it off, they also had a promotion for the month of February in which you can pick a heart from a basket, which reveals a certain prize or discount.  Ryan picked the heart with the biggest discount-25% off our entire purchase! And since this clinic is training a few sonographers, they invited us to come back at any time, free of charge, to have another viewing in order to give their sonographers some more practice.
Anyways, I have to say that this is something that we will likely do again for future babies (and I promised Ryan next time we will find out the gender!)
So here are some of the pictures.  It has taken me this long to do this post as I have been trying to figure out how to capture a still image from a video on my Mac for 4 (yes four) days now!  I finally caved and used Ryan's PC!

My chin.

Ryan's mouth.

Definitely Ryan's foot.  Finding shoes to fit this babe is going to be interesting!

Big yawn!
